Marlin Coast Rangers would like to say a huge thank you to Cr Brett Olds Deputy Mayor - Cairns Regional Council and Cairns Regional Council for their support in helping us clear fallen trees at Pennell Field after the flash storm earlier this month ๐ฉ๏ธ
The storm caused significant damage to our grounds, but thanks to this quick response, weโre well on our way to restoring our facilities.

Despite yesterday's flash storm which caused significant damage at our Pennell Field home, weโre pleased to confirm that training will go ahead on Tuesday 14 January for the following MCR teams:

Weโre rallying the Coast Army to lend a hand today for a clean-up effort, starting from 2pm onwards. We have a lot of tree debris and leaf matter that can be cleaned up. Gloves and rakes would be handy to bring along!
Thank you to State Emergency Service - Far Northern Region and Ergon for coming out last night and inspecting the damage caused by the storm. The power to Field 2 & 3 has been disconnected to "make safe" so restoration and clean up can now occur.
Any help would be hugely appreciated - together, we can get our home ground back in shape ๐ชโฝ

Unfortunately, a flash storm has caused significant damage at our Pennell Field home, with floodlight poles, fencing, and advertising signage affected, as well as major debris left on Fields 2 and 3.
Weโre rallying the Coast Army to lend a hand tomorrow for a clean-up effort, starting Monday from 2pm onwards, pending safety inspections.
