What a night! ๐ตโช Our Presentation Night was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes MCR so special โ our players, coaches, families, and the incredible people behind the scenes who make it all possible.
From the youngest juniors to our seasoned seniors, every moment this year has been shaped by teamwork, dedication, and community spirit. Thank you to everyone who contributed both on and off the field โ without you, there is no club.
It was fantastic to come together and celebrate the many achievements of 2025 โ not just trophies and titles, but the friendships, growth, and memories made along the way.

Our club is built on community โ on people who give their time, energy, and heart so that others can play, connect, and belong. As we look ahead to the 2026 season, we need your help to keep that spirit alive.
Without volunteers and these important roles being filled, we donโt have a club. It truly takes a village to make MCR the special place it is, and every contribution โ big or small โ makes a difference.

What a stunning morning at the club for our Mini Rangers program ๐โฝ๏ธ
Coach Charlie had our littlest Rangers smiling from ear to ear as they learned new skills, made new friends, and stayed active! ๐ช
Some of our older Mini Rangers are already gearing up for their first season of Football Queensland MiniRoos Football next year, while our youngest club members are building their coordination and confidence one kick at a time. ๐

โฝ 2026 Coaching Announcement โ Greg Budd to Lead the U23 Women! โฝ Weโre thrilled to announce Greg Budd as part of our Marlin Coast Rangers coaching line-up for the 2026 season, taking the helm as U23 Womenโs Coach! ๐ Gregโs connection to the club is built on dedication, passion and a true love for the game. Over the past nine years of coaching, including two with Marlin Coast, Greg has made a lasting impact both on and off the field. Not only has he given his time to coaching, but many will know him as a player too โ having pulled on the jersey for our Division 2 Menโs team in 2023 and continuing to play in the Cairns Menโs Over 45 Social League. ๐ A proud Womenโs Football Ambassador for Marlin Coast, Greg has been instrumental in building and strengthening pathways for female players. โฝ 2026 Coaching Announcement โ Monique Ward Leads the FQPL Women! โฝ Weโre incredibly proud to have Monique Ward as Head Coach of our 2026 FQPL Womenโs team! ๐ Monique brings a wealth of energy, experience and a winning mindset to Marlin Coast as we prepare to step onto the Premier Division stage for the first time in 2026. Having already made her mark with our Grand Final Winning U23's team in 2025, Monique is ready to lead the next exciting chapter in the clubโs history. We are beyond excited to see what 2026 brings for our Marlin Coast women! ๐ฃ๏ธ When asked about the season ahead, Monique shared: โFollowing the U23's teams strong performance in 2025 and our success in the Grand Final, we're excited about what lies ahead in 2026. โฝ 2026 Coaching Announcement โ Paul McGilvray Joins the Team! โฝ Weโre incredibly proud to announce Paul as part of our Marlin Coast Rangers coaching line-up for the 2026 season! ๐๐ Paulโs connection to the club runs deep โ over 50 years of involvement to be exact. From his very first game as a junior to a long and successful 25-year playing career, Paul has grown through every level of the game at Marlin Coast, truly embodying what it means to be part of the Rangers family. After hanging up his boots, Paul turned his passion to coaching, starting at just 20 years old. Since then, heโs spent around 10 years coaching junior teams and a further two years coaching senior football, sharing his knowledge and love for the game with countless young players along the way. โฝ Football runs in the family: ๐ธ His father is a proud Life Member of MCRFC ๐ธ His mother is a Life Member of Cairns and District This lifelong connection to football in Cairns makes Paul not just a coach โ but a cornerstone of our football community. With 4 years as a dedicated MiniRoos coach, the 2025 U13โs FQPL coach, and holding a C Licence, Ericโs commitment to player development is second to none. His deep ties to MCR (his grandfather was a life member!) and his involvement with the Football Queensland FQ Far North & Gulf Academy make him an inspiring leader for our next generation of players. ๐น Sam Collins With 3 years of MiniRoos coaching experience and a remarkable career as a multi world-title-winning professional wakeboarder, Sam knows what it takes to chase a dream and reach the top. His passion for coaching young athletes and his elite sporting background bring a unique edge to the coaching team. ๐ฏ Together, Eric and Sam are ready to lead our U13โs squad into 2026 with energy, experience, and a laser focus on developing confident, skilled footballers. โฝ 2026 U14โs Coach Announcement โ Marc Jennings โฝ Weโre proud to announce that Marc Jennings will be returning as the U14โs Head Coach for 2026! ๐๐ Marc is a true Marlin Coast Rangers legend โ with over 7 years of MiniRoos coaching experience (often juggling multiple teams in a single season!), ranging from U5 all the way through to U12's and 2 years at the competitive level, he brings a deep understanding of player development and what it takes to build a strong, successful team. He led a standout U14s campaign in 2025 and is passionate about helping players grow both on and off the pitch. His coaching style develops resilient, determined young footballers who love the game.
