Marlin Coast Rangers Football Club was established in 1946 with a long Club history of 78 years! We continue to to offer a strong community based club in the Northern Beaches of Cairns, keeping youth and kids engaged, and delivering the best we can for all players.
Marlin Coast is the only club in the Cairns region which has four full size football pitches available, three with full lighting. We also offer a Bar and Canteen area that on game days is hustle and bustle central.
Marlin Coast Rangers is proud to have over 200 active junior Miniroo members who participate in age groups from U6 –U12 who play non-competitive small sided football, and U13 through to U16 FQPL teams who participate in competitive games.
MCR joined the FNQ Premier competition in 2005. After two seasons of ‘doing it tough’ the senior management staff worked tirelessly to build teams and a club that were competitive. Their hard work was rewarded in 2007 when Marlin Coast Rangers Men’s Divisions were crowned the Premiers in the Premier Division, the Premier Men’s Reserve Division and the Youth Division. This was the turning point for the club and these teams.
Marlin Coast Rangers have been one of the most successful clubs in the region since 2007, regularly competing in final series as well as games against Townsville’s leading Premier teams. MCRFC also hosts the Peninsula School & State tournaments with up to 3,000 visitors to the complex.
Each year the club holds one of the Junior largest football carnivals in FNQ which contributes to football in our region and gives players the opportunity to test their skills and enjoy the game! (1,500 visitors in 2024!)
MCRFC prides itself in providing the best playing surfaces of any football club in Cairns. Our players train on, and play on, manicured pitches which support their skills and development as players.
In addition, our Coaches and Senior Club players are known for supporting our younger players and mentoring them through to older grades of football, with many of our Premier players attending miniroo and junior competitive training to guide and mentor them.
With a strong community following on the Northern Beaches, Marlin Coast Rangers is the obvious choice for players who want to be part of a large strong football family.
2025 is set to be a huge season for Marlin Coast and we welcome all past and new players to enjoy the coming season!
